Lose the tattoo

Almost 30% of Americans have a tattoo, and for millennials, the number jumps to almost 50%. But, many people experience tattoo regret. If you’re one of them, don’t fret. With the miracle of laser treatment, now there’s something you can do about it.

Some tattoos are easier to remove than others. Some tattoos may not be able to be completely erased, but they can be greatly reduced. How well your tattoo can be removed will depend on the following factors:

This is why choosing the right facility and staff is so important. Our team is highly trained in removing tattoos, and when you match that with our advanced laser system, we can remove most tattoos and reduce the appearance of others.

How laser tattoo removal works

The procedure is usually done on an outpatient basis. First, we’ll give you protective eyewear. Then we’ll give you a local anesthetic where your tattoo is located. Next, we’ll test your skin to make sure your skin has no adverse reaction to the laser.

The laser works by delivering pulses of light to break up the molecules of ink in your skin. As the laser breaks up the ink, your surrounding skin is not damaged.

The makeup of your tattoo will dictate how many treatments you’ll need. You may need 5-15 treatments. To give your skin time to heal, you’ll need to wait 4-12 weeks between sessions. Following a session, you may have some swelling, bleeding or blistering.

Until the treatments are finished, you’ll need to stay out of pools and hot tubs, and you’ll need to protect yourself from the sun, especially for a few days after each procedure. Side effects can include scarring, skin irritation, infection or discoloration, but we’ll go through all of this with you during your consultation.

If you have a tattoo you don’t want anymore, you can do something about it. Book an appointment over the phone with Stirling Skin Care Clinic today.
