Health Benefits of Cupping

Although cupping may sound like the latest trend in wellness for celebrities and athletes, it’s actually one of the oldest forms of ancient Chinese medicine, dating back to 200 AD. And there’s a reason cupping has remained a popular therapy for centuries: its health benefits.

At Stirling Skin Care Clinic, our team of experts takes pride in offering the best therapeutic modalities to our patients in Casper, Wyoming. As part of our comprehensive line of services, our team is pleased to offer two different methods of cupping.

Take a moment, and learn more about this ancient Eastern medical therapy and the many health benefits it can bring you.

What is cupping?

Cupping is a traditional Chinese therapy that uses cups placed on the skin to create suction. Originally believed to facilitate the flow of the body’s life force (“qi”), contemporary practitioners believe the therapy promotes healing and wellness by increasing blood flow and promoting repair at the cellular level.

Biomagnetic cupping

Biomagnetic cupping uses suction cups with magnets at specific polarities. The idea behind biomagnetic cupping therapy is that healthy cells vibrate at a set frequency. Diseased cells, on the other hand, are changed by the pathologies affecting them. Applying biomagnetic cups restores the affected cells and positively influences mind-body processes.

Contemporary cupping

Contemporary cupping refers to the practice of using suction cups in strategic locations to revitalize stagnant tissues. The suction the cups administer opens pores and helps discharge toxins and waste in addition to bringing issues closer to the surface for better access to the circulatory and lymphatic systems, where they can be flushed out with other bodily wastes.

What are the health benefits of cupping?

Cupping has survived through centuries of medical developments because it provides myriad benefits to those taking part in the practice. Recent studies demonstrate the potential medical benefits of the therapy that augment and complement the general wellness benefits.
