What is a Lash Lift?

Most women would like to wake up feeling put-together, ready to walk out the door without a lengthy makeup routine to “put on your face.” At the very least, wouldn’t it be nice to have long, beautiful eyelashes without the hassle of applying — and later removing — several coats of mascara every day?

If you’re always on the lookout for ways to streamline your beauty routine, while still looking glamorous, an eyelash lift should be your next go-to solution.

Here at Stirling Skin Care Clinic in Casper, Wyoming, our medical aesthetic experts provide the ease and convenience of a lash lift, so you can wake up with beautiful lashes every day. The team answers some common questions about what a lash lift is so you can decide if it’s right for you.

What is a lash lift?

A lash lift is like a “perm” for your eyelashes. It’s a relatively simple process in which your aesthetic expert wraps your eyelashes around a tiny silicone rod. Think of it as a tiny roller for your eyelashes.

Once your eyelashes are affixed to the rod with a safe, gentle adhesive, your specialist paints your lashes with a curling lotion that makes them keep their desired shape after the process. Since every single lash gets individually separated and adhered to the curling rod in an upward, sweeping shape, the results are instantly longer, curled lashes.

How curled will my lashes be after a lash lift?

The exact effect you’re going for is something you discuss with your provider before beginning a lash lift treatment. Based on your individual eyelashes, your aesthetic expert can recommend an ideal-size silicone rod to give your lashes optimum lift and curl.

How do I maintain my lifted lashes after treatment?

One of the great things about a lash lift is that there’s very little upkeep if any. Unlike lash extensions, there’s nothing artificial added to your eyelashes. They’re your own lashes, only curled upward and separated to give you a fresh, open-eye appearance from the moment you wake up each day.

Aside from avoiding hot water and mascara for the first 24 hours after you receive a lash lift treatment, you can wash your face, swim, and even wear mascara for a more dramatic effect. Just be careful not to use an oil-based makeup remover to maximize how long the lash lift lasts.

How long does a lash lift last?

The team at Stirling Skin Care Clinic uses the Elleebana lash lift system. Typically, after a single 20-minute treatment, your lifted, upswept lashes will last 6-8 weeks on average, but potentially up to 12 weeks. It just depends on how quickly your lashes grow out.

Is a lash lift safe for my eyelashes?

The Elleebana lash lift procedure is safe and gentle. The conditioning formula that curls your lashes is nourishing with natural ingredients. In fact, the harshest ingredient in the solution is alcohol.

The two-step process consists of a lifting solution and a setting solution that’s rich hydrating ingredients, including aloe and glycerin. Once your aesthetic expert removes the lifting solution, your lashes are treated to a healthy dose of moisture.

Can I get a lash lift if I wear contact lenses?

Yes! Just don’t wear your contacts to your lash lift appointment. After a treatment, since your eyelashes won’t contain any harsh chemicals or artificial substances, you can wear your contacts as you normally would.

You may even find that it’s more comfortable wearing contacts after a lash lift, since you don’t even need to wear mascara, which can sometimes flake off and irritate your eyes.

Saving a few minutes out of your beauty routine each day is always a plus. And having long, separated, upswept eyelashes without effort for the next couple months is a big advantage. You’ll be ready for anything.
